Wireless Mesh Networks: An Introduction
Wireless mesh networks are designed to be deployed over wide geographical areas, such as campuses, public spaces, even entire cities. They can provide network connectivity, communications and security, such as real-time video surveillance, or be used for short-term deployments, such as for large public events or at construction sites. They can also be permanently placed in locations where a traditional WLAN or cellular network would be too costly to deploy.
In this report, we discuss how mesh networks work, their drawbacks and open source options.
