Research: 2012 Application Delivery Specialists Staffing Survey
The Last Mile
What's the role of application delivery specialist? That depends. The traditional definition is someone who manages software and OS upgrades. But as organizations move toward software-as-a-service, they need delivery specialists who can bridge the gap between development and operations.
However you define it, it's a position in high demand from companies changing their approaches to development and deployment, with 84% of respondents to the InformationWeek 2012 State of IT Staffing Survey who cited application delivery specialist as a top area of staffing increase saying they employ people with these skills and 58% saying they expect to increase staff in this area in the range of 1% to 10%.
In this report, we look at the evolving role of application delivery specialist and career prospects for people with these skills, as well as data from our staffing survey. (R5871012)
